November 2008 – New Assistant Club Director Behind The Wheel At Albemarle Motorsport
Former Asst Secretary of British Racing Drivers Club, James E. Beckett, joins Albemarle with a wealth of experience, knowledge and associations. Mr. Beckett plans to help deliver a world-class motor sport experience for the enthusiast, hobbyist and professional.

 

October 2008 – New Equestrian Director Takes The Reins At Albemarle Estate Recognized equestrian figure Mrs. Diane Monroe of Virginia Beach joins Albemarle as Equestrian Director. A life-long equestrian competitor and participant, Mrs. Monroe has achieved national ranking amongst the nation’s most accomplished competitors, competing in premier events such as The National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden and the Meadowlands as well as The Washington International, The Pennsylvania National and the Devon Horse Show near Philadelphia.

The Albemarle team met at Clark Nexsen offices to discuss further program development at Albemarle Estate focusing on the attractions for future corporate conferences, parties, teambuilding events, product launches, weddings, and executive meetings.


September 2008
An upscale tailgate party at the 21st Annual Virginia Beach Polo Club (VBPC) Benefit "Chukkers for Charity” was held along the rails for families of those involved with Albemarle Estate. Donned in fancy hats, all involved stomped down divots and enjoyed the action as the VBPC took on the British Forces Foundation. Horses, vintage motor cars, and an authentic aerial flyby set the perfect tone for what all foresee as an everyday experience soon to be available at the Albemarle Estate. Special thanks to everyone who came out to join us!


August 2008 – Albemarle Moves Forward On Several Southern Chespeake Sites
The Albemarle development company has approved a number of sites in southern Chesapeake, and is moving forward on plans to break ground Spring of 2009. Each of the potential sites is convenient to other Chesapeake leisure, cultural, and historic attractions and provides easy access just minutes from central Chesapeake’s I-64 on Rt. 17 South. City officials, including the Chesapeake’s leadership and council members have been given the opportunity to review the development’s project and site plan and are enthusiastic about the facility.


July 2008 – Special Guests of English Sporting Events
On invitation from the former Secretary of the British Racing Drivers Club Rear Admiral Roger Lane-Nott the principles of Albemarle development company traversed the Atlantic this past July to attend legendary sporting events north of London England. Lane-Nott is a long-time supporter of the Albemarle Estate and has accepted the venue’s leading position as Club Director.

Drift back in time - to an era not so long ago - where men sporting fedoras and women in soft silky scarves enjoyed long leisurely drives through the countryside. The Albemarle Classic is a sporting and social event that celebrates the glorious automobiles of yesteryear. A classic car collectors´ dream, there are plenty of magnificent motorcars to ooh and ah over and enough motor sport entertainment to keep the entire family entertained for a fun afternoon.


Albemarle Equestrian Festival

The Albemarle Equestrian Festival may host events such as dressage competitions, hunter/jumper horse shows, three-day events and polo matches.  The multi-functional facilities and the wide-open countryside may make Albemarle a crown jewel for equestrian programs throughout the Southeast.


Albemarle Holiday Gala
Tentatively scheduled Christmas 2009
Albemarle Estate invites members and their guests to "wine and dine" in style at the Albemarle Holiday Gala. Elegant and inviting, this annual event brings together those that share a love for classic sport and social entertaining in celebration of the warmth and wonder of the season.

August 2006 – Meeting With Polo Leadership Yields Great Results
Albemarle leadership travels to the Big Apple to meet with senior management at the Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation. Polo RL expresses interest in sponsorship opportunities, as well as specialty retail shops in Albemarle Estate.

August 2006 – Motor Racing Legends Hint That 2008 Visit & Race Likely
Motor Racing Legends chairman Mr. Duncan Wiltshire of Suffolk, England, advises Albemarle principals that they are looking at Albemarle Estate as a potential venue for a 2008 weekend meeting and exhibition race. June 2006 – Recognized Motor Sport Figure joins Albemarle as Director
Albemarle principals announce that Rear Admiral Roger Lane-Nott of Northampton, England, will serve as an Albemarle Director. Admiral Lane-Nott is the former Club Secretary of the British Racing Drivers Club and the Silverstone Circuit, and the former Race & Safety Director for Formula One racing. Albemarle principals successfully sway the Albemarle Estate to Ms. Jeannine Oppewall, an Oscar-nominated production designer for Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Calif.
